Mono material stand-up pouches
Do not look at weight alone. Product volume and shape are equally important. Tea, coffee, nuts and powders all have a different filling volume at the same weight. The best approach is to request a sample and test the pouch using your own product.
Yes. Our mono-material stand up pouches are recyclable. Because they use a PE-based mono-material structure, they can be easier to sort in many recycling systems than traditional laminated films made from several different materials. Actual recycling always depends on the local collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure.
No. The EVOH barrier is integrated into the PE structure in a way that maintains the recyclability of the pouch. At the same time, EVOH improves protection against oxygen. This makes mono-material with EVOH particularly suitable for products that need additional aroma protection or quality preservation.
Our stock pouches are made from PE-based mono-material with an integrated EVOH barrier. PE provides flexibility and strength, while EVOH improves the oxygen barrier. We do not currently stock PP-based versions, but for custom packaging we can assess whether a PP solution is suitable for your product.
Mono-material stand up pouches are suitable for many dry products, including coffee, tea, spices, nuts, snacks, granola, powders, supplements and pet food. For particularly sensitive products, we can help determine which barrier option is most suitable.
Yes. Mono-material pouches with an EVOH barrier can be very suitable for coffee. For freshly roasted coffee, we recommend a pouch with a degassing valve. This allows gases to escape while helping protect the contents from external influences.
A metallised PE or PP layer is available for custom-made packaging. This can be useful when your product requires additional protection against light or oxygen. Together, we can determine the material structure that best suits your product, required shelf life and sustainability strategy.
Adding a window to mono-material packaging is technically more complex because the material structure should remain as recyclable as possible. Contact our specialists if you would like to explore a window option. For light-sensitive products, we usually recommend a closed, opaque pouch.
Yes. Many mono-material stand up pouches feature a resealable zipper, allowing the end customer to close the pouch again after opening. This is especially practical for coffee, snacks, powders, nuts and pet food.
Unprinted mono-material stand up pouches can be ordered from PouchDirect from just 100 pieces per type. Custom printed or fully tailor-made pouches are available from 5,000 pieces.
